All images provided should be clearly identified, in both, the files name and suggested photo caption with people(s) names and positions in the images carefully explained. Professionally photographed pictures should include photographers name for proper credit. Any images submitted to SHOOT, whether published or not, will not be returned as a matter of long-standing editorial policy.
Website Image Specs
In general, all website images are recommended to be submitted at 652 pixels wide x 400 pixels high, RGB format at 72dpi min to 150dpi max resolution. Images smaller than this should NOT be scaled up but rather have additional background area added.
SHOOT default Image (left of headline): Squarish shape images will scale down to approx 300px x 215px (wide short images should have white space above and below making image squarish–should fix problems when SHOOT system automatically converts uploaded image styles for the flowing: System created images default image for Teaser images which appear on SHOOT’s front page will display at 99 pixels wide x 50 pixels high and on SHOOT home page images appear at 139px wide x 100px high
Slideshow Image Gallery above stories: 652 pixels wide x 400 pixels high also RGB format at 72dpi min to 150dpi max resolution.
Conceptually best to get a gallery image to landscape shape and default like hybrid of head shot (ie. portrait shape or landscape with background added right and left.)
Print Issue Image Specs
In general, all images for print are recommended to be submitted at 600+ pixels wide x 600+ pixels high minimum with differences related to being either portrait or landscape shape, CMYK color format at 300dpi. Images smaller than this should NOT be scaled up as this will reduce dpi rendering image unusable for print. Facebook, twitter, or images copied from any website are not acceptable.
